I never really had any experience with kale as it is not served regularly in restaurants that I frequent or at my local grocery stores. The local Walmart only started carrying kale a few years ago and I only really ever heard about it after my wife saw it on the Dr. Oz show and they were talking about how healthy Kale really is for you and that it case far superior to spinach (I hate the taste of spinach). Besides, this is not to mention the weight loss properties of eating healthy greens like kale.
These are pictures of the bag of kale that I buy at Wal-Mart for around $2.30 a bag – a great deal when compared to most other vegetables and greens.
The actual recipe I use come straight off the back of the bag of kale and it is the best kale recipe I have come across so far. It’s in the third picture = basically just add the greens and 1 cup of chicken broth and then sauté for about 12 minutes on the stove. The only other thing I had is a sprinkle fresh finely ground Parmesan cheese on top of it when it is ready to be served.
These pictures show you exactly what to expect as you cook the kale per this recipe. From the moment you first put the greens in the pan to the moment when they’re done and ready to serve.
I don’t normally like greens, but after having had this recipe for kale, I am sold. The health benefits of greens like kale or spinach are amazing, and now with this recipe are actually very good tasting to eat. Our children also love this kale recipe, so if you’re looking for a good way to get your kids to eat their vegetables and greens and to eat healthier then you definitely need to buy a bag of kale and try this recipe! By the way, as I’ve found out, it’s also a great way to lose weight. By substituting this kale for other things I snack on throughout the day I have lost about 10 pounds over the last year – not a ton of weight, but it stays off – so I am not complaining!
