IHOP Complaint – Their undercooked eggs gave me food poisoning

I got food poisoning at IHOP






It was sunday morning and I wanted to get up and get breakfast with my family. My kids wanted pancakes we went to IHOP. I didn’t mind, I wanted to stay local anyways. So we headed out to go get some breakfast.

We showed up and we were greeted by a girl at the hostess stand. She was very nice and there she said that there was no wait. She showed us to a table in the back of the restaurant. She informed us that our waiter “Pierre” would be right over.

As expected it was a French man with a very heavy accent. He was difficult to understand, and it became awfully frustrating to talk to him. Everybody order their food. I decided not to get pancakes like everyone else though. I got some eggs cooked over-easy, with bacon, toast, and hash browns.





Our food came out and everybody seemed to be enjoying their pancakes. My bacon was a bit stale, and toast was not very hot. The eggs I got didn’t taste right. They were very cold, but appeared done from the outside. Looking back I should have sent them back, but I ate them anyways.

The next morning I woke up sick as a dog. I threw up at about 6 am, and I immediately knew it was the eggs I had for breakfast the day before. The vomiting didn’t stop either, at the end of the day I threw up a total of 10 times in 8 hours. It was the sickest I have ever been in my life. I also missed a crucial day at work, that I could not afforded to miss.

After that horrible food poisoning experience there I will never eat at IHOP again. I would not recommend anyone ever eat there. They don’t cook their eggs thoroughly enough and I clearly paid the price.
